Singleton Lodge Wedding Video // Sally & Euan

Why do you want to capture your wedding on video?: We feel that the day will pass very quickly and in a bit of a blur and we want to be able to look back on everything and see the moments we have missed.

Why did you choose Marriage in Motion wedding videos?: We loved the sample wedding videos on your website – they seemed to show the narrative of the day and were beautifully shot

You guys? …What do you do?..How do you spend your days?..What’s important in life? etc etc: Euan works at BMW selling cars. Sally works for a large software company selling software to enterprise legal firms.

We work really hard and when we do have time off together we want to relax and enjoy our time together, which mainly takes the form of eating and drinking. Sally is a keen (obsessed) cook, and we like nothing better than eating out, entertaining at home, or just settling down to dinner together every night.

The most important things to us are our home and our two beautiful Bengal cats, Louis and Henry.

We bought our first house about 18 months ago in a quiet part of Lytham and we’ve been happily making it own ever since. When we met we were a barman and a waitress so we’re incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved together in the past 7.5 yrs.

The proposal? …Tell me everything (all the gushy details): Euan surprised me at on the outdoor balcony on the 66th floor of the Top of the Rock (Rockerfeller Center) in NYC at the end of February. We had just had martinis in the cocktail bar on the floor below, and went outside into the open air looking down at all of New York lit up beneath us.

We then spent and amazing few days wondering round New York together having the best holiday we’ve ever had!

Singleton Lodge Country House Hotel? … Why this place above anywhere else?: Singleton Lodge is right next to Sally’s parents’ house (they live in the houses which formed the original barns for the farm of the Singleton estate), so it seemed a fitting place. We also want to create a country house party type feel and felt it would be a good venue for that.

We didn’t view any other venues, we’re really decisive people and just said yes!

What experience do you want to give to your guests?: We want them to feel that they’re at a relaxed country house party, with plenty of food, drinks and good music. We’ve asked Singleton Lodge to light the fires to give a cosy feel, and we want plenty of candles and some low lighting to help it feel more intimate. Our band are coming down from Edinburgh to play and they’re absolutely fantastic at getting people up dancing – we used to go and watch them every week when we lived in Edinburgh. We don’t want anything to feel overly formal, just a happy and relaxed party!
